As we have seen in the first two chapters, using social media to communicate with constituents and connect with colleagues in new digital spaces is gaining traction with a wider audience of school leaders, experts, and educational organizations. Negative stories trumpeted by media outlets, however, continue to slow adoption. It is difficult to expect educators to completely embrace services like Twitter and Facebook when they are constantly surrounded with headlines like, “Teacher Loses Job After Commenting About Students, Parents on Facebook” (Heussner & Fahmy, 2010).
As a result, the majority of schools and districts are overly cautious about the role that digital spaces can play in their own communication and professional development plans. As coauthor Jason Ramsden, chief technology officer for Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, North Carolina, explains, “I understand the excitement and hesitation that comes with conversations about using social media in our schools. In my experience, most educators think social media means social networking on Facebook. When building animations its important that you dont introduce things into your animations that dont export. The last thing you want to do is to spend several hours tweaking an animation that previews in Flash, only to discover that Wallaby doesnt support some aspect of it.
As I mentioned before, Wallaby cant possibly support all of the many features of Flash. Here is a list of what it does support, along with some usage tips:
Wallaby supports the Flash Timeline, keyframes, and tweens. Support for nested timelines (movie clips) does exist, although its suggested that animations should be designed primarily on Flashs main Timeline where possible.
Standard layers, guide layers, and mask layers are supported within animations.
Wallaby only supports masks with a duration that lasts the duration of the frame. If you make a partial mask on a layer, it will generate an error. Masks, when converted, can also put significant strain on less powerful devices. As such, be careful when using complicated masking, and be sure to keep the number of masks in your animation at a minimum.See All

Control templates offer a good way of reusing arbitrary markup, but if you don’t need to use FrameworkElement-based types in your drawing, using the more lightweight DrawingBrush class is more efficient. And if you are creating lots of drawings all containing similar shapes, you can even go as far as sharing individual geometry objects as resources. The first 10 chapters of this book looked at nearly all aspects of bash, from navigating the filesystem and editing the command-line to writing shell scripts and functions using lesser-known features of the shell.
